Nissan GTR has one of those histories that go back to 1969. People might think it’s a new thing but it has a rich history. After numerous generations and variations, Nissan delivered us with what we call the Nissan GTR also known popularly as ‘Godzilla’. GTR is considered one of those cars that has always punched way above its weight. GTR is a two door car with four seats that can easily be your race car, as well as your daily runner.

GTR was launched in 2007 at the Tokyo Motor Show and received a facelift in 2011. GTR, like its predecessors, is a front engine mounted all-wheel-drive (AWD) car that has made its name in the world of professional racing. Although previous iterations were called Skylines, the Nissan decided to stick with the GTR name for this car. Previously, Nissan had been using inline 6-cylinder engines for their performance cars, but the Nissan GTR was launched with newly developed V6 engine.

There is also a Spec-V variant of the Nissan Skyline GTR and though it has the same 3.8L V6, there are no changes to the engine but since the car is purpose built for racing, it has been made very light. The weight reduction has helped the car to shed seconds on a track like the famed Nurburgring, where it has posted comparable results to Porsche 911 Turbo.

There are few Nissan GTR’s imported to Pakistan as well, and you just might be able to catch a glimpse of them some time.
