The exterior of the 1st Generation Toyota Premio features a very minimalistic design language. The front end houses side swept trapezium styled headlights, a trapezium shaped chrome front grille, a small rectangular air intake, and standard circular fog lights on the front bumper. The slightly raised rear end houses side swept trapezium styled taillights with rectangular insets, a chrome trim piece on running across the center of the trunk and a standard case rear bumper. All variants of the Toyota Premio feature identical styling in every aspect. The overall exterior of the 1st Generation Toyota Premio features very restrained and minimalistic styling.

The interior of the 1st Generation Toyota Premio compromises of black plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats are covered in fabric. Standard features on the F models include air conditioning, power windows, tachometer, central power locks, cup holders, power steering, dual front airbags and traction control. Features on the higher end X variant include front Xenon headlights as standard and the rear windscreen wiper. The G variant features leather upholstery as standard. Options include satellite navigation, climate control, Xenon headlights, leather upholstery and a sunroof. The overall interior 1st Generation Toyota Premio features a good amount of interior space for a sedan of its exterior dimensions, it also offers a decent level of comfort and interior refinement.
