Today we’re back with the owner’s review of a 2021 Toyota Hilux Revo V. The Revo was launched in Pakistan in 2016 which came in a 3.0-liter diesel engine. Later on in 2018, the 3.0-liter 1KD engine was replaced with a 2.8 liter 1GD engine with increased horsepower and torque.

The Hilux Revo got a proper facelift in 2021, with prominent changes in the car. Moreover, the engine’s power was increased to 201hp and 500Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission which delivers power to all four wheels. This particular Revo stands out as the owner has blacked it out, so let’s get to know more about his experience with this pickup truck.

Purchase Decision

The purchase decision of this car is rather unconventional; the owner was gifted with this car by his father. Initially, the plan was to buy a Civic, but due to the drastic increase in its price, it didn’t feel worth it, so they decided to raise their budget and buy a Revo as they liked it.

Modifications

The owner has done some modifications to his car, for example, an HKS exhaust system which really enhances its sound; he has also tuned the engine, which has pumped up its power from 200hp to 250 hp. Other modifications include cosmetic changes, which include blacking out every chrome trim in the car, including the rims, an Urban front grille, smoked tail lights, front DRLs, carbon fiber trims, and ambient lights in the interior.

Salient Features

The Toyota Revo is well equipped with features, and many new features were added to the facelift as well. The car comes with push start, steering controls, a new instrument cluster with MID, single-zone climate control, cruise control, black leather seats with the driver seat being electrically adjustable, rear AC vents, a new infotainment system, LED headlights and tail lights and much more.

Fuel Average

This 1GD engine is Toyota’s new engine and is very efficient in fuel consumption along with power delivery. As per the owner, he gets 9 to 10 km/l within the city and around 13 to 14 km/l on the highway if driven at 120km/h, which is very impressive.

Missing Features

The owner is overall very satisfied with the look of Toyota Hilux Revo look and features but only misses a black roof liner to go with its blacked-out theme. In his opinion, the grey roof liner Toyota offers does not complement the black interior.

Maintenance

The owner initially got the car serviced from Toyota but now maintains it from a local workshop. As per the owner, an average oil change and filters cost around  Rs.10 to 15,000 on an interval of 5,000 kilometers which lands around 3 rupees per kilometer which is very high.
